Roke is a happy, caring community of children and adults striving for excellence and celebrating diversity. Our aim is to provide an inclusive, well-rounded, broad based, exciting education, for all our children. Our pupils have a reputation as confident, well-mannered and sociable people who will participate in and contribute to the community.

One of our pupils is quoted as saying, “It doesn't matter how tall you are, or what colour you are, we judge people by what's in their heart.” We believe all children can achieve and it is our responsibility to provide the structure, guidance and opportunities for this to take place. Excellent teaching and learning ensure that all pupils are helped to progress as much as they can. As a school we are committed to working in partnership with parents in order to develop the whole child.

We aim to be at the forefront of worthwhile initiatives, both in staff development and whole school achievements. We have been awarded the Basic Skills Quality Mark as we recognise numeracy and literacy skills are the foundation for future academic success. Our OFSTED subject inspection for ICT (November 2010) declared the overall effectiveness of ICT to be outstanding at Roke. We are also very pro-active in other areas such as, information technology, modern foreign languages, the arts, sports and health. Our children and their learning are central to everything we do.
